I’m 7 months into feeding my third child and after three children and three very different experiences, I thought I would share some essential products for breastfeeding from one Mum to another…

I personally love a feeding pillow, I find them very comfortable in the early days. Here are some of the options.
BBHug me pillow
I bought the BBhugme for my current baby and find it so comfortable for feeding, 7months on we still use this for evening/night feeds. The pillow almost moulds to your and your baby’s body so it’s a seriously comfortable option. I found this a really good option after a c-section as it was so soft/light to use.
I used the Widgey pillow for both of my girls and found it very comfortable to use. It’s more affordable than the BBhugme and a very good buy.
Another option is the Lansinoh Breastfeeding Pillow. It’s comfortable, portable and helps to properly support the breastfeeding position at home or on the go. The unique design that allows the pillow to slide onto the arm instead of around the waist means that the pillow is thoughtfully designed for mums who have delivered via c-section and offers a one size fits all.
Big muslins or swaddles
Big muslins or swaddles are perfect for burping – definitely worth having a couple in your changing bag.
I personally love Lanisoh cream and it’s something I’ve used for all babies. Lansinoh’s HPA Lanolin Cream has been developed for breastfeeding mothers to soothe and protect sore and cracked nipples. The cream is 100% natural and hypoallergenic, and has no taste, colour, or smell – meaning it is safe for both mum and baby. I also use this for dribble rash!
Breast milk collectors
The Haakaa silicone breastpump is a simple way to allow you to express easily, directly and effectively. Use while feeding to collect any letdown, it has rave reviews and is something lots of you recommended to me.
The Lansinoh Breastmilk Collector is another option and helps to collect it all every drop of milk. While mum is breastfeeding or pumping from one side, breastmilk can flow from the other breast.
I’ve rarely had to use nursing pads but friends who have recommend washable ones. Lansinoh have a range of washable nursing pads which have leak-proof protection after each wash.
I always take a multivitamin when I am feeding. I have used Vitabiotics for years and use these breastfeeding ones.
Lanisoh hot and cold Therapearl
Lanisoh hot and cold Therapearl helps provide relief from engorgement, plugged ducts and mastitis and encourages milk let down when using hot. I used this when my milk came in and would really recommend it.
A Mummy & baby box
The early days of breastfeeding can be long and tiring, so I bought a box with all my essentials in it – things like a big water bottle, snacks, nipple cream, my ipad, muslins nappies and wipes. It meant I could recover in bed and not have to shout for things all the time – I would really recommend.
