Last weekend I was treated to a spa morning by my husband at Guildford Harbour Hotel Spa. I’ve been to the hotel before, but never to the spa so I was really excited to try it out!
The Guildford Harbour Hotel and Spa is a central hotel in Guildford with a stunning restaurant, bar and as I have now found, a divine spa! The Spa features a gym, two indoor ‘experience’ pools (one Jacuzzi Pool and one Plunge Pool), stone oven sauna, an outdoor champagne pool and an aromatic crystal steam room. The Harbour Hotel recently unveiled the luxury new outdoor Champagne pool which with submerged seating and stress-relieving water jets is an amazing addition and it’s the first open-air heated pool in Guildford.
The newly refurbished spa also includes seven treatment rooms, an extensive new urban fitness suite, indoor pool, hydrotherapy pool, sauna and steam room. Spa Days and Spa Breaks are available, alongside a menu of relaxing treatments.
I would describe the Spa as intimate, it isn’t a huge Spa but it never felt crowded and there were always plenty of places to sit and relax. I preferred it for the morning session I had to larger Spas I have been to as it was all accessible without too much moving around! Perfect.
When I arrived I was immediately shown to a treatment room for my 25-minute facial. It was a really relaxing treatment and my skin felt wonderful afterwards.
I then went to explore the Spa. I found myself a base for the morning overlooking the two experience pools and spent some time reading. This, as any busy Mum will know is such a treat, I never get anytime to read so I really enjoyed sitting back and relaxing.
The sun made an appearance part way through my morning so I decided to go outside to test the new pool. I was the only one there and it was wonderful. It’s not a huge pool, but even as a keen swimmer I was happy with the swim I had. I swam and sat in the pool in the sun for about an hour – it was absolutely amazing, for me the perfect way to spend time at a Spa!
For the rest of the morning I sat by the pool and enjoyed my time relaxing – which was very easy to do in such a tranquil place.
After my 3 hours relaxing in the Spa it was time for lunch. The lunch is served outside of the Spa in the hotels main restaurant and the food looked delicious! The spa deal I had gave me £17.50 towards food (excluding drinks) which was perfect and meant I could choose on anything from the menu. I decided on a Caesar salad, with added chicken and a side of sweet potato fries. The food didn’t disappoint and was delicious!
I had a wonderful day at The Harbour Hotel in Guildford and left feeling very relaxed. I’ll definitely be back!
