Last weekend we were invited to The Bridge in Chertsey for a Sunday roast. We decided to leave a little earlier and have a walk along the river as the pub is situated right on the river Thames.
The walk along the river is beautiful and the girls loved watching the boats go past and running underneath the bridge.
After a little walk we decided to head to the pub and have a drink outside so the girls could watch the passing boats. The outdoor area is fantastic and would be packed on a summers day!
The girls were starting to say they were hungry so we moved inside (it was a little chilly to sit outside for a meal) and we found a gorgeous table in a dining room that looked over the river.
The pub is beautifully decorated and has lots of space at the bar and in different bar and dining areas. There was also a great outdoor/indoor entertaining space perfect for family parties or gatherings.
We were so impressed with the look of the menu so we decided to have starters and obviously a roast dinner! The children’s menu was also perfect, there was a mix of roast dinners and family favourites like sausages and fish fingers. Amelie decided on roast chicken and Evie had sausages and chips.
We decided to have the girls food with our starters and we were impressed when they arrived.
I had potted pork with a rhubarb chutney which was delicious and Nick had mushrooms on toast with a poached egg. The starters were beautifully presented and were the perfect start to the meal.
The girls loved their meals, Evie had sausages and chips and Amelie had roast chicken with the biggest Yorkshire pudding she had ever seen!
It was then onto our mains, we both chose to have the beef roast dinner and it was amazing! The beef was perfectly cooked and we really enjoyed our Yorkshire puddings. The girls were still enjoying their mains so it was perfectly timed so we could enjoy our dinner as well.
The girls were offered ice cream for their dessert and we were excited to be sent a tasting plate of desserts. We were full but we gave it a good go! Amelie helped us with the brownie and we enjoyed the mix of crumble, chocolate mousse and sticky toffee pudding.
All of the food was delicious and we thoroughly enjoyed our Sunday Roast at The Bridge. The team were friendly, the service quick and we’ll be back for a lunch outside in the Summer.
