Where to see Father Christmas in Surrey…

I know it’s only October but I am already seeing Father Christmas visits and activities being discussed so here is my list of places to see Father Christmas in Surrey… Remember to book early as lots of these experiences book up in advance!

Where to see Father Christmas in Surrey…

1. Squire’s Garden Centres

Santa Claus is coming to Squire’s Garden Centres this November! To make sure that his sleigh is in tiptop condition for Christmas Eve he’ll be coming on an unusual form of transport. He’ll be arriving on a Vintage Bus, a Horse Drawn Carriage, an American Classic Car and even a Fire Engine!

It’s FREE to come and watch Santa arrive and you can have your picture taken with him. He’s even bringing some of his real reindeer with him to Squire’s in Badshot Lea, Long Ditton, Shepperton, Stanmore, Woking and Washington!
 
Squire’s also has a Christmas Grotto which costs £6 per child (£1 of which is donated to charity) and includes a lovely early Christmas present from Santa. It’s open from the date of Santa’s arrival until Christmas Eve. There’s no need to book, simply turn up on the day.

2. Squire’s Christmas Circus “Make Rudolph Shine”

Squire’s Christmas Circus this year is called “Make Rudolph Shine”. It’s on from 23 November* until Christmas Eve. Tickets are £14 per person and every child will receive a gift from Santa’s elves after the show! Advance booking is essential for the circus at www.squiresgardencentres.co.uk

3. Santa’s Snow Train and Crystal Grotto at Painshill

Join Painshill for a completely unique festive experience this Christmas. Take a magical train trip to see Santa in their incredible Grade 1 listed Crystal Grotto. BOOKING IS NOW OPEN ON THIS PAGE

Enjoy festive colouring at the Visitor Centre before boarding an amazing Christmas land train which explores the beautiful  Painshill landscape before arriving at the bright and twinkling Grotto.

Once at the caves you’ll meet Santa in your family group and take in the sparkling crystal-covered cave. Every child can get a present from Santa and his elves.

Book in the day time and finish your festive experience by enjoying the Painshill Christmas trail and access to the Painshill gardens. If your time slot is after daylight hours complete your visit with a beautiful walk back via a special lit path.

4. The Magic of Christmas at Chobham Adventure Farm

Tickets for the Magic of Christmas at Chobham Adventure Park include; guided tours, festive activities, a visit to Santa and entrance to the Farm Park.

Experiences available from the 30th November to 24 December 2019. Different time slots are available throughout the days lasting approx. 2 hrs to 2.5 hrs

5. Father Christmas at Hatchlands Park

Father Christmas at Hatchlands Park

Book a timed slot to meet Father Christmas and receive your present in person in his cosy living room off their cobbled courtyard. On 14 & 15 December, Mrs Christmas will be back by popular demand, so book in with her for a unique experience. Because they’re a busy couple at this time of year, booking is essential.

Saturdays 30 November, 7, 14 and 21 December and Sundays 1, 8, 15 and 22 December, 11am-3pm

6. Santa’s Christmas Wonderland at Chessington Garden Centre

Step into the magical winter wonderland at Chessington Garden Centre and take a special journey through their 2019 Grotto. You will be greeted by many of their Elves who will be guiding you through the wonderful Christmas experience.

Your journey will start in the craft workshop. Elves have been busy making toys all year round and they will need your help. As you continue through the Wonderland you will step into magical Christmas scenes and have plenty of photo points, opportunities and interactions.

No Christmas Grotto would be complete without a chance to see the big man himself. This year children can step inside the Toy Factory and pick their own toy fresh off the production line.

Introducing My First Christmas

Your baby’s first Christmas is a lovely and special time of year. You can explore the wonderland together and then have the chance to meet Santa and receive a special gift that he has been busy crafting just for your first Christmas together.

 – Adult: Off Peak £4.00 / Peak £4.50 (There must be 1 paying adult for every 4 children entering the Grotto, Adult Ticket does not include craft or gift. Every Adult will require a ticket to enter.)

7. Christmas at Garsons

Garsons haven’t released the date for their magical Christmas displays that have it named in the top 5 national best destination garden centres for Christmas this year but expect to see Christmas displays once Halloween has been and gone.

8. Meet Father Christmas at Bocketts Farm

Enjoy a magical and festive family visit to meet Father Christmas in his traditional workshop. (tickets on sale on the 3rd October) 

You’ll start the journey with one of their head elves. Children will hop aboard the Santa express and travel in style to the magical workshop, where you’ll gather as a group for some festive elf fun. Next, you’ll meet Father Christmas himself and receive a special golden coin to spend in his very own toy shop!

Pre-booking is essential. Up to 2 adults may accompany each child into the workshop. The Santa Express trailer is for children only, with adults accompanying on foot alongside. Each group carries a maximum of 20 children. You should allow up to 45 minutes for your visit to Father Christmas. Professional photos available to purchase.

9. Wiglet’s Christmas adventure and visit Father Christmas at Godstone Farm

This year Wiglet’s Christmas Adventure returns with all the usual farmyard fun and a truly festive visit to see Father Christmas.  Celebrate this wonderful time of the year with us, let little ones wander through the magical tunnel with our friendly elves and be guided to meet the man himself!

Watch small eyes light up as each child receives a marvellous present from our toyshop and then the adventures continue around the rest of the farm.  There will be interactive fun in Wiglet’s Workshop plus Christmas crafts and cookie decorating.

Visits to Father Christmas are strictly by timed tickets and bookable only in advance.

Availability is limited so book early to avoid disappointment!

Wiglet’s Christmas Adventure runs on selected dates, 23rd, 24th and 3oth November, 1st, 7th, 8th, 14th, 15th, 18th, 19th, 20th, 21st, 22nd, 23rd and 24th December 2019.

10. Christmas on the Watercress Line

Travel in a festive train carriage for a magical trip where Santa and his jolly helpers visit you in your seat with a gift. Grown-ups get treated to white wine and mince pies, whilst children enjoy a soft drink and a gingerbread man*. Each child will also receive an activity pack to keep them entertained on this enchanting one hour journey. Don’t forget to bring your very best singing voice to join in with your favourite Christmas songs too!

11. Christmas at Hobbledown

Hobbledowns enchanted Grotto will be open from Saturday 30th November throughout selected dates until Tuesday 24th December 2019.

Back by popular demand will be their Christmas Toddler Brunches and Lunches (Click HERE for details and Click HERE to book).

This year’s Grotto price is £12.95 per child and includes your visit to see Santa, a wrapped gift and a sweet treat.

Grotto prices are in addition to general admission rates. (Hobbledown Annual Passholders get 10% off the booking price).

12. Meet Father Christmas at Polesden Lacey

Friendly elves will be on hand to guide visitors through the woodlands at Polesden Lacey, where children can enjoy craft activities whilst they wait to meet Father Christmas, in his bejewelled grotto.

Each child will receive a marvellous present from Father Christmas’s toyshop. Afterwards, complete the winter family trail before warming up in the house where you’ll discover Mrs Greville’s home transformed with gemstones and sparkle. A special experience to remember.

13. Christmas with children at Claremont Landscape Gardens

With a cosy fairytale cottage, a traditional children’s trail and a snug, family-friendly café, Claremont Landscape Garden is the perfect place to bring the children over the festive period. There are lots of things to do this year at Claremont…

The Thatched Cottage – Every year during December Claremont transforms the Thatched Cottage into a cosy Christmas cottage with traditional Christmas decorations and a beautifully glittering tree. Walkthrough the garden and past the lake to find this hidden sparkling grotto.

Visit the fairytale Christmas Cottage nestled in a secret woodland glade not far from the edge of the lake, you’ll discover the fairytale Christmas Cottage, charmingly decorated for the duration of the festive period (from 12 December). Young and young-at-heart alike will enjoy the selection of traditional toys and games to play with inside this magical little grotto.

Come and visit the beautifully festive Thatched Cottage to join Mother Christmas for some lively festive tales and songs on the 14th December. Bring the whole family for this magical event which costs £3.55 for an adult and £6.70 for each child. Booking is essential.
