Family fun at Epsom Races | AD

August 14, 2019

This Bank Holiday weekend (26th August) the Family Fun and The Epsom Trainer’s Open Day is returning to Epsom Racecourse!

We went to the family fun day last year and really enjoyed all that was on offer, especially watching the races – something the girls have never done before!

The afternoon combines racing, free entertainment for little ones and running races!

The main spectacle of the day, the racing! There are 7 races happening over the course of the afternoon. The first race will happen at 13.55 with the last at 17.25.

Children’s entertainment

The children’s entertainment is always fantastic and perfect to keep little ones amused when there isn’t a race. This year expect to find inflatables, assault courses, face painting and running races. The theme this year is ‘adventure’, so feel free to dress up and get creative!

Children’s running races

There will be three races throughout the afternoon along the final furlong of the racecourse, split into age categories; under 5’s, under 8’s and under 11’s. Entries fill up fast so please ensure that you pre-register by the Parade Ring before 2pm to guarantee your child’s spot!

The trainer’s morning

The morning of the races offers a unique experience for families; the Epsom Trainer’s Open Day. Before the afternoon racing begins you and your family can go behind the scenes of the training yards. You’ll see the horses working on their gallops from 8.30 am and at 9.30am you can visit the yards of the horses where you can speak to some of the trainers and meet the stars of the show up close!

Kids go free!

Don’t forget, kids can come racing at Epsom Downs for free! Enjoy all the entertainment on the day as well as the horse races and only pay for adult tickets.
