Half term has crept up on me and if like me you are wondering what to do with the kids next week, hopefully, the 15 ideas below will help with some inspiration.
1. RHS Wisley
This half term Wisley will lots of activities, from spotting different animals to have a ride on the witches broom, to creepy crafts and Halloween activities. For more information head over to their, what’s on page.
2. Squires Hersham
Squires in Hersham have a week filled with activities for little ones. You can drop in daily from Monday 22 – Wednesday 31 October, 10am – 4pm. Some of the activities are listed below:
Paint a ceramic bat tealight holder – take home with a complimentary LED tealight to place on your windowsill to brighten up your room – £5.50.
Decorate a spooky mobile – hang in your bedroom to scare away unwanted visitors – £3.50
Pumpkin pursuit around the centre – discover the creepy word and be in with a chance to win a prize – free.

3. The Ivy Cobham Brasserie
The Ivy in Cobham Brasserie has a special Halloween menu and will decorate the inside and outside of the restaurant this Halloween. It’s definitely worth a visit, even for the little ones to see the decorations.
4. Claremont Landscape Gardens
Claremont have a packed schedule of activities over half term including, fairytale crafts, pumpkin carving, spooky walks, bark rubbing activities, and a Hansel and Gretel trail. To find out the times and dates head to the Claremont what’s on page.
5. Brooklands Museum
Brooklands Museum will be screening a special Halloween drive-in movie. The movie will be Hotel Transylvania. Families can start the evening trying out their Spooky Children’s Trail and ghastly craft workshop, then head over to the Finishing Straight to check in at the castle where Dracula lives for the movie Hotel Transylvania screened at 5:30pm.
6. Pumpkin Picking
There are lots of local farms that are offering pumpkin picking or displays over the half term week. You could try Garsons Farm, Priory Farm or Crockbridge Farm.
7. Beast Quester at Hampton Court
Hampton Court Palace have an exciting event for the whole family this half term, the Beast Quester. The Dark Wizard Malvel has taken over Hampton Court Palace, bringing all of its resident beasts to life and they need help to save the beasts from the spells.
8. Godstone Farm
One of our favourites, Godstone Farm has a week of crafts and games including Pumpkin Carving, Spooky Quiz, Face Painting and ends the week with their Spooktacular Low Bangs Fireworks Display.
9. Fishers Farm
Fishers Farm has lots of activities over half term including a spooky scavenger hunt, a daily Farm Show and an opportunity to visit their animals in the cosy Animal Encounters Barn.
10. Bocketts Farm
Bocketts Farm are running a Witches and Wizards week. Every day over half term families can find; a range of reptiles and creepy crawlies in the reptile roadshow, exciting shows from their our wickedly wonderful wizard magician, you can explore the spooky fun trial and enjoy a full programme of fun farm activities with Animal Handling, Goat Milking, Tractor Rides, Pony Rides and Pig Racing!
11. The Heart in Walton
On Saturday the 27th October The Heart in Walton will have a Scarefest, a day of activities including, tricks and treats in the shopping centre throughout the day, fun fair games with a creepy twist and an un-lucky dip.
They will also have a potion bar and the unmissable black candy floss cart! The kids can really get into character at the dress up station and even get ghoulish glitter tattoos to show off to their friends!
12. Box Hill trail
There will be a Toadstool tiptoe trail at Box Hill. Children can discover fungi on this self-guided trail for children. Suggested donation of £1 per trail.
13. Winkworth Arboretum
There are lots of activities at Winkworth Arboretum this half term from a happy Halloween trail and pumpkin carving.
14. Hatchlands Park
There will be three different Halloween activities over the course of the autumn half-term as well as all of Hatchlands Park’s normal favourites. There will be a tea and coffee stand in the adventure area for the whole 9 days, so there’s less walking distance for everyone.
15. Halloween fun at Ham House
There will be a Halloween trail, a chance to decorate pumpkin shaped biscuits, an opportunity to visit the servant’s quarters and make your own illusion spinner to conjure up a ghost, storytelling and dress up stations with photo opportunities.
