I really can’t believe it, next week Amelie will head into her reception classroom for the first time, meet her teacher and a whole lot of new friends. It’s come around so quickly and although I am feeling very emotional about it I am also feeling a huge sense of pride that my little lady is going to be starting her journey into school.
A lot of parents will be finalising uniforms for little ones this week and I have to say I have quite enjoyed looking, trying on (her, not me), and choosing all the bits Amelie will need for her start at school. I was definitely the parent walking around with the school handbook checking everything off!
When Tesco got in touch with me recently to tell me about their school uniforms and offered me the chance to try them out, I jumped at the chance – I definitely have a lot to learn about school uniforms, I hear lots of chatter from other Mum’s with kids already in school about the best uniforms, the ones that last and I’m just finding my feet in this new world!
I was really impressed when I read everything about Tesco’s school uniforms, they have a 100-day guarantee, the polo shirts which Amelie will likely start her year in have a stain repel finish and the shoes are scruff resistant, have a durable sole and a micro fresh lining.
All of this sounded amazing because I have heard from lots of parents and teachers that reception children get very dirty – mud, paint, water you name it they play with it, so if a polo shirt can repel some of this it’ll definitely make my life easier and keep Amelie looking smarter for longer.
When I went into our nearest Tesco store to choose her uniform I was really impressed with the price, £2.50 for a pack of two polo shirts, £8 for two skirts and £4 for a cardigan is fantastic value.
There’s something about a school uniform that makes a little one look so smart and grown up, it definitely filled me with a huge sense of pride when I first saw Amelie in her uniform so if Tesco can help bottle that feeling all year with long lasting uniform, I will be happy (as will our bank balance as I definitely don’t want to have to replace uniform too often)!
I think we are now all set for the big day and I am really excited to get her dressed and see her go in meet her teacher.
Is everyone ready for the new school year?
