Family Meals At Pho

August 21, 2018

We were recently invited to Pho Restaurant in Kingston to try out their family-friendly menu. We haven’t ever been to Pho and honestly hadn’t considered it as a venue for dinner with the girls, largely due to Amelie being quite fussy with her food and wanting it to be plain.

On looking at the kid’s menu I was pleasantly surprised so we decided to give it a go for a Sunday evening dinner.

We went to the Pho Restaurant in Kingston, but you can also find branches all over the country and for my Surrey followers in Guildford and Wimbledon.

The Kingston branch is handily located just behind the market square (where the water fountains are) and has a little grass area outside, which the girls played on while we were waiting for our food.

Once we got them inside they got stuck into some colouring on the kid’s menu and Evie found a new love, prawn crackers!

I really loved the feel of the restaurant, it was laid back, bright and had a nice family friendly vibe so if one of them was walking around or making noise it didn’t really matter and wasn’t overly noticed as the background noise covered it up! This always makes me feel much more at ease when eating out with the girls.

Now onto the food! We chose two dishes for the girl’s to share. Amelie chose the battered chicken nuggets and Evie the wok fried rice with egg and chicken.

Amelie loved the chicken nuggets which were served on a stick (such fun for little ones) and everything came separately, including the plain rice. She loved her meal and ate it all!

Evie also really enjoyed her rice, she’s a little more accepting of things being mixed up so the rice and chicken was perfect for her.

We also really enjoyed our meals, to start I had a crispy spring roll of tiger prawn, crab & pork with nước chấm dipping sauce which you wrapped in a lettuce leaf and Nick had seasoned, crispy chicken wings served with sriracha. Both were delicious.

For mains, I had a rice bowl topped with vegetables and herbs, served with beef in betal leaf. Nick went with a traditional Pho with had the biggest king prawns I think I’ve ever seen! On the side, we had beans with a peanut sauce which I loved!

We were really impressed with all of the food and especially the girl’s food. It was the perfect portion for them, served in a fun way and done quickly which is always appreciated when you have two little ones!

Thanks so much to the team at Kingston for having us!
