We all want to feel free in life, but the reality is, we feel the exact opposite of that. Life just gets in the way, and all of the responsibilities we feel just seem to weigh us down. But, we’re sure that you can all agree that the main way this happens, is through your work life. Work weighs us down more than anything because it’s where we spend most of our time. Some of us eat sleep and breath work, which just isn’t a healthy lifestyle to be leading at all. So, we want to show you some ways that you can take steps towards working life freedom. The best way to do so is to become your own boss, but that doesn’t come without its fair share of issues along the way. Whilst you might be free from someone breathing down your neck at work, you won’t be free from the stresses of work. However, we do feel like it’s the best way to achieve working life freedom, so here’s a few steps that will push you in that direction.
Figure Out Your Line Of Work
This is the first thing you really need to think about. If you don’t know what line of work you want to go into, then you’re never going to get where you want to be. You really need to think about what you want out of life, and what career will give you that. For some, they’re more technical. So something like computing or engineering would be better suited to their traits. Others, it’s compassion, so something like nursing would do the trick. If you’re really struggling to think of a line of work that you would like to go down, then you’re going to have to get creative. Think about your likes, dislikes, what you didn’t like from your last career, and what you like doing outside of work. Gather all of this information, and put it onto a mood board type of thing. From there, you can work out what you wouldn’t want from a career, and what actually interests you!
Qualifications To Get You There
You’re always going to need qualifications to get you where you need to be in the modern age. Even if education wasn’t the focus 10 years ago, it is now. So, once you have a career in mind, get the qualifications. If it was engineering that tickled your fancy, you could get a engineering mba which would set you right up for the top position. The more qualifications and experience you have, the higher you’ll be able to go through a company. Alternatively, this would easily set you up for starting your own business. You would know the ins and outs of everything, and managing your own company would be more about managing yourself.
This is the final piece of the puzzle. If you want to have working life freedom, you really do need to learn how to manage yourself. Time management, motivation, organisation, are all things that you need to be thinking about.
