We were invited to come down to The Heart Food Festival today in The Heart shopping Centre, Walton on Thames.
My husband and I love food and cooking, so we were really excited to have a walk around with the girls and from what we saw and found this festival is a must-visit for any foodie.
The festival is a yearly event and this year in its 6th year. It’s totally free to enter and it’s a very family friendly event.
Once there you’ll find approximately 40 specialist stalls offering a variety of local and international produce with lots of freshly prepared dishes. I was excited to see some of my favourites there, from Silent Pool Gin, Purbeck ice cream, local macaroons, a churros stall and the most amazing smelling dishes from Halloumi wraps to French Comte.
It’s not just delicious food and drink on offer, we also found demo kitchens, which over the weekend will host a number of award-winning chefs who’ll serve up some of their signature dishes. You’ll be able to hear from Nutritional Therapist, May Simpkin and Multi-award winning, International Artisan Chocolatier, Fiona Sciolti tomorrow. The demo kitchen will be open between 11am and 5pm.
We found what we thought was one of the best (other than the chocolate churros) stands for the little ones and this was a kids demo kitchen. We were able to make and try delicious fruit creations, help with science experiments (who knew vinegar and bicarbonate could be so fun) and later on in the day there was cookie making and healthy pizza creating.
Look out for a giant Instagram frame as you walk around as one lucky person could win an amazing prize!
If you do go, let me know what you think and what you tried – have fun!
The Heart Food Festival is on tomorrow 10th June between 11am and 5pm.
*This is a sponsored post, we were asked to visit the Food Festival today and to tell you all about what we thought.*
