Life Isn’t Uniform with M&S

June 8, 2018

This year is an exciting year for us as Amelie will be starting school and will be getting her first school uniform. She is at pre-school already so we have had our many uniforms over the last two years, but her first uniform is exciting for us both.

As I have found over the last couple of years with Amelie at pre-school, kids and Amelie can be very particular and do funny things with and in their uniforms.

I’m so excited to be working with M&S on their Life Isn’t Uniform campaign which aims to bring together all of the funny moments and mishaps kids have with their uniforms as they know for kids and parents, life isn’t uniform.

I had a wonderful day in London a few weeks ago filming some of our ‘life isn’t uniform moments‘ and in M&S uniform here are some of the funny things Amelie has done or does in her current uniform.

Our gift giver

Amelie is our gift giver, she is very caring and always thinks about others and what she can give them.

Whenever she comes home from pre-school she brings someone a gift, recently we have had stones from the playground for Nanny and Grandad, a full family picture for Daddy and cards for me. Whenever her cousin comes to play she always leaves our house with a present. It can be anything she wants, Amelie and her cousin decide on a gift and they leave with it. My sister gives me a bag of our things every week and it really makes me laugh at how many gifts Amelie gives her.

It is slightly unusual for a three year old to be giving so many gifts, but that’s Amelie, she really is so kind. I really hope that when she goes to big school it’s a habit that will continue, I have so many lovely memories and special moments watching her gift giving.

Playing, whatever, whenever

Amelie plays whatever, whenever. She is an outdoors kind of girl and is happy when she’s in the garden.
Her uniform not only gets put through its paces at pre-school but it also does as soon as she gets home. She’s on the bike, digging for stones (for her latest gift) or running up and down the garden.

The pink dress of dreams

Amelie absolutely loves this summer school dress and since we bought it, for this very blog post she always requests to wear it. When she gets home from pre-school she runs into her room or our utility room finds this dress and says ‘it’s really hot Mummy, I need to wear my Summer school dress’. She even wanted to wear it to a birthday party last weekend!

It’s the heart zip that makes it so special for her I think, she’s always saying how pretty it is!

We picked up some essentials from M&S for her and I have been so impressed with their range of school clothes and how nice everything was that we ordered.

The essentials we ordered were; a Grey pinafore (£10.00) which felt super soft and looked really smart with the White polo top (pack of two) £7.00 underneath. Over this Amelie wore one of M&S’s super soft cotton Red cardigans (£9.00) and finished the look with some ballet shoes (£20.00). Finally, we bought a girls pleated gingham Summer dress for £9.00.

All of this uniform came to just over £50, which I thought was a bargain for what we bought. M&S have all the main colours needed for most schools and different colours for things like skirts and pinafores, so you can just about get everything you need from one place.
Amelie is very petite and although I ordered everything in the size up she looked and said she felt comfortable in the uniform which was brilliant and importantly she’ll have room to grow into it all.
You can find out more about the Life Isn’t Uniform campaign on the M&S website.
Have you had any funny or sweet moments with your kid’s school uniforms?

What a lovely girl you have and such a milestone coming her way so soon. The funny thing is as a vintage blogger, I know before you know it you will be posting her leaving school and prom pics – it goes so fast although it never quite feels like that at the time. Cherish every moment! M and S can always be relied on for quality in my experience and I love those little dresses #ThursdayTeam

Eeeek! School uniform is so exciting and heartbreaking all in one. My two would love that pink summer dress. I think if Ellie could change her uniform it would become pink 😉

Love the fact that you got hold of a pink dress for this post! Amelie sounds like such a scrummy little girl. How is it that they instantly look more corn up in school uniform! We have always been an M&S school uniform buyers, I find the quality hard to beat! In fact we need to go stock up whist there is 20% off.
