Mum life is a busy life for most of us. When you’re finished working for the day it’s home for dinners, bath, bedtimes, more meals then packing for the next day.
I don’t often get a chance to have time to myself, so days or weekends away for me are a much deserved treat and time for me to recharge my batteries and return refreshed.
There is something amazing about a girls or Mums weekend away, it’s something I am trying to do more often with my friends so I thought I’d share some ideas of things to do on a well deserved Mum break, in one of my favourite cities – Liverpool.
Liverpool is a Unesco World Heritage City, was the European Capital of Culture and is home to many fantastic museums, attractions restaurants and bars.
What to do on a Mums break in Liverpool
Check out the views from the Radio City Tower
If views are your thing then head up to the top of Radio City Tower for amazing views. With a height of more than 400 feet (120 metres) on a clear day, you can see all the way to the Lake District!
Explore the Albert Docks
Located on the World Heritage Site waterfront, the Albert Docks features the largest collection of Grade I listed buildings in the country. Within the docks, you can find events, food and drink, museums and nightlife.
Get on a famous red bus and tour the city
I often think the best way to explore a new City is to hop on a bus and let someone else show you the attractions. You can then get a feel for where everything is and what you want to see, you might also learn something about the city you wouldn’t have done if you’d explore yourself. Liverpool sights offer an hour and a half hop on hop off tour and starts at the ferry terminal.
The Beatles tour
Even if you’re not a huge Beatles fan, the Beatles tour is one not to be missed, with throwbacks to the 60’s, interactive zones and of course everything you need to know about the Beatles.
Explore the Tate
If you’ve been to the Tate in London, why not try the Tate in Liverpool. Set in a renovated Albert Dock warehouse, you’ll find modern works of art from modern works from British and international artists.
Find a new hobby
One of the things I love doing now I am a Mum is trying to find new hobbies so I have something very much for me. Why not try a workshop, such as an art workshop to encourage you to learn something new and potentially turn it into a hobby?
Groupon is a great place to find the best deals on your favourite Liverpool attractions and lots of the above can be found there.
Where’s your next Mum break and have you ever been on one?
