It’s getting closer to Summer and for lots of us, it’s time to start thinking about getting healthier.
I am definitely thinking about it, I want to feel less sluggish, feel better in my clothes and feel a bit stronger. It’s so easy to eat all the wrong foods in the Winter, so I need to commit to making changes that will make me feel better about myself and will hopefully continue them throughout the year.
So I thought I’d share my top tips on getting healthier for the Summer season:
This is the number one thing I need to do more of this Summer. I always find an excuse to put this off and I really need to start making more of an effort.
As a work from home Mum the evenings and the weekends are my time to get my exercise done so I am going to start blocking out hour sessions so I can go for a run or a swim. I am also going to look into activities I can do in the home when the girls as
Another big one for me. It is all too easy in the Winter months to load up on carbs and not eat as healthily as you should. With the arrival of the warmer months and better access to fruit and vegetables, I am going to make an effort to eat a more balanced diet.
It will be a great excuse to take the girls to a pick your own farm!
Living well is also really important. I am partial to a glass of wine after a hard day and I am going to try and stick to only drinking at the weekends and changing to a tonic water or similar in the week, I also try to stay away from cigarette smoke where I can, if you’re trying to stop smoking products like Grey Haze can be an alternative.
I do also find that certain food groups can make me feel sluggish, so cutting back on wheat and moving to other things like rye can really help.
Keeping my mind healthy
Keeping my mind healthy is also so important, as I do a lot of work from home in the evenings it can be hard to switch off. I have started and am going to continue having Friday evenings off so I can recharge my mind so to speak and have a rest from the constant thinking.
They are my goals for this Summer, do you have any?
