One of my favourite things in life are bags, so when I first found out I was pregnant with Amelie I was really excited to see what the changing bag market had to offer. I have to say, I was a little disappointed. But three, nearly four years on the range of stylish changing bags is huge – there is something for everyone’s taste and I am always looking at the new ranges thinking they look better than normal bags!
When I was asked recently if I would like to review a bag from PacaPod I said yes immediately! I love the idea of the Pacapod bags (with their handy compartments) and when I took a look at the Travel Lite range I immediately fell in love with the leather Hartland backpack. This isn’t any old changing bag/backpack, it is a changing bag that can change from a backpack to a messenger in seconds – it makes it both a bag for when you’re with the little ones and a bag for you when you’re without them.
I fell in love with this bag as soon as it arrived. It immediately felt like a bag I could use without the girls and was so soft and smelt amazing – the colour is also perfect for Autumn/Winter, especially as I live in my tan boots!
I loved the way the straps were designed at the back of the bag meaning I could choose whether to use it as a backpack, a messenger or use the attachment to clip it onto the pram – perfect when you have lots of shopping and no space left underneath your buggy!
Inside the bag you’ll find two pods, one insulated feeding pod and one changing pod with space for nappies, wipes and other essentials. It means that all the essentials you need for a baby can be kept separate from everything else in the bag, perfect if you have multiple children. Inside the changing pod is a changing mat and there are lots of zipped pockets in the bag to keep your valuables or other belongings safe and organised.
I have to admit, I was a bit nervous I wouldn’t fit everything in the bag that I need for a three and one year old, but so far I have been pleasantly surprised. I manage to fit everything in for the girls (the pods really help keep it organised), my camera and purse and it never feels heavy or awkward to carry. I find some bags hard to carry and find they hurt my back – but because this is a backpack the weight is distributed well and I can still run after the girls without worrying about my bag getting in the way or falling off!
The shape of the bag is fantastic. I can fit it into the side basket of our Bugaboo Donkey and also underneath the Bugaboo Bee 5, so it really is very adaptable to whatever stage you are at. What I love the most is that the bag allows you to be hands free, which is essential with two little ones that run!
I’ve not only used it as a changing bag, I also use it for work events as it’s the perfect size to fit everything in from my laptop, to my camera and when I have both of the girls everything I need for them!
In summary, the PacaPod Hartland changing bag is a gorgeous soft, stylish, practical all uses handbag/changing bag.
