Sickness bugs. They happen every year, but this year was different. There are now four of us, four people who could potentially get sick at the same time. Not only that there are two small humans who depend on us to help them get better.
The sickness bug that hit our house yesterday was fairly awful, no one needs the details so I thought I would summarise the day through my thoughts.
When the sick bug hit…
Oh my goodness, what do I do with this situation?
Where’s my Mum? Oh no, I am the Mum, I have to clean this up.
I hate the sight of sick, but my daughter is covered in it and freaking out, I need to pull myself together.
Don’t be sick, don’t be sick. Breathe through your mouth.
My baby is screaming because I left her in her cot so I could hold my other daughters hair. Why aren’t there two of me?
Where’s the carpet cleaner? I have no idea where the flipping carpet cleaner even lives! My Mum would know. *calls Mum*
Locates carpet cleaner (that Mum bought) now what?
*Tries in vain to clean bed* I give up, I’m going to cuddle the girls.
My washing machine is having SO much more fun than me right now.
I am so jealous of my toddler lying on the sofa watching TV. When was the last time I had a sick day? No idea, literally no idea, my brain doesn’t work anymore.
I’ve looked at the clock 500 times and it’s STILL 4pm.
I am so tired.
Can you drink wine when you have a tummy bug?
*Sends husband 50th message of the day* He says he’ll rush back, but really he’s going to take a train in the other direction.
I’ve just said to my toddler ‘rest is the best thing’ and ‘have some cooled boiled water’. I AM my Mum.
I just want her to feel better.
OMG, it’s 7pm, they are both asleep. I AM A SUPER MUM.
Winter bugs – you can’t defeat us!
