Let me start off by saying I know it’s still September and before children I would have tutted at the thought of Christmas prep so early but now I have a toddler who really understands the excitement, I can’t wait!
Even though we haven’t hit October yet I’m so excited to share some amazing finds from the Matalan Christmas range.
Here’s some of my favourites from their range.
Personalised sacks and stockings
I’m all for personalisation, especially when you have two children and things can easily be mistaken, so I love these personalised stockings and sacks.
Amelie has an ‘A’ stocking and Evie a ‘E’ sack. The girls haven’t had personalised stockings yet, they’ve had hand me downs from when I was a child so I am really excited to use these this year. Not only do they look seriously stylish, they feel like they are a really good quality so I hope they’ll last the girls a few years.
I love the drawstring on Evie’s sack and the pom pom detailing, it’s also HUGE! Lots of room for presents.
Amelie’s stocking is a really warm and a cosy knit. I know she’ll love the reindeer detail and pom poms at the top.
The Advent calendar
We also love this wooden advent calendar.
I’m all for removing chocolate calendars, one for my waist line and two so the girls don’t associate Christmas just with chocolate and treats. This year we’ll be starting to explain the traditions to Amelie so this will be a really nice way to start to tell her stories through little bits I put in each drawer. I have no doubt each drawer will be opened on the first day, but at least with this I can add things back in if they get taken out on day one!
It’s also a really beautiful decoration, it’s perfect for little ones to see on the side and not breakable either!
Christmas Eve set
We also love the Christmas Eve set which includes a Santa plate, a carrot shaped one and a Santa note plate.
Amelie had some idea about Father Christmas last year so it will be so nice to put out a carrot and a mince pie on these together and then wait to see whether they disappear when they wake on Christmas morning…
Even though it’s the end of September I’m really pleased with my first few bits for Christmas 2017. I can’t wait for the memories made with the girls and our family this year.
Do you start planning for Christmas early? Are you feeling excited for it this year?
