Fun in the garden with Smurfs: The Lost Village

August 21, 2017

The summer holidays have been great so far, we have done so many lovely things together as a three (and when Daddy is here a four), but I have to admit, I am running out of ideas!! There are only so many times you can play certain games before everyone is bored.

So when the lovely team behind the movie Smurfs: The Lost Village got in touch to see if we would like to get involved with some activities and test out some of their new toys, obviously I said a massive YES and ‘thank you for saving me’

The first thing we got to grips with was the lovely toys that we were sent.

We were sent the DVD (perfect for a rainy day), Brainy’s mushroom house, clumsy smurf, smurfilly and a smurf and his spitfire.

Amelie is really into imaginative play at the moment, her favourite toys are her dolls house and a play farm we have. She chats to herself as she plays, so these toys were a brilliant new addition for her to play with.

We were also sent a mushroom house to use with an augmented reality app.

We took the mushroom house outside, placed it near to a tree (we don’t have any tree’s that are easy to get to so we found a bush) then used the Aurasma app to find the Smurfs Lost Village.

Once we had followed the Smurfs lost kingdom we could go to the camera on the Aurasma app and then hold the ipad in front of the mushroom house to reveal some of the characters.

Amelie was amazed by the app and kept asking where the characters were coming from. We had to keep a look out for different clues, things like mushrooms, dragonflies and daisies which was a good activity for Amelie as she is learning the words for all these things at the moment.

It was definitely a fun activity and something different for us to do together, the toys and this were perfect for imaginative play. When the rain stops we’ll go outside again and see what else we can find in the Lost Kingdom.

You can do this yourself at home by downloading The Smurfs: The Lost Village Official on the Aurasma app.

Smurfs: The Lost Village is now out on DVD and Blu-Ray so if you need a rainy day movie definitely check it out…

How have the summer holidays been for you?

Sarah x

*We were kindly sent the activity pack and some toys to test and play with in exchange for a blog and social post, we were not remunerated for this post’

B is so into bits like this at the moment, his imagination is running WILD!
I love this set, it honestly reminds me of my childhood as Smurfs were around then too haha.
The fact you can link the product up to an app is fabulous, makes it even more magical xo

I bought two different mushroom houses for my daughters last holidays, even though there isn’t much to them they do love playing with them. Great that the dvd is now out as we haven’t actually seen the new one yet. The app looks cool too.

This looks like a great app and video not to mention the toys. I loved the Smurfs when I was a child and looks like they are still a hit. x
