I was recently invited to the launch of The Baby Service, an appointment only shopping experience for expecting parents in Chobham, Surrey.
When I was pregnant with Amelie, my first, I was overwhelmed at the ‘baby marketplace’ there were so many brands, so many products and a huge desire to get the right things for my baby. I ended up spending a lot of time researching options as I didn’t find anywhere that gave me the impartial advice I was looking for. With Evie, our second, I had a lot of hand me downs but there were still things we wanted to get new for her. Again, I did a lot of research and used social media as my tool to do this.
Aman, the owner of The Baby Service had the same struggles when pregnant and found it hard to find the right products and service, which is where the idea for The Baby Service stemmed from.
The Baby Sevice helps expectant parents find everything they need for their new arrival from a pushchair to a complete nursery or advice on what to pack in a hospital bag. The showroom is decorated into ‘mini nurseries’, which give great inspiration for new parents. I loved the styling ideas and found myself taking notes of how to update the girl’s rooms!
As an extension of the service Aman will also recommend and connect parents with Maternity nurses, nannies and health care professionals.
If you decide to use The Baby Service you have an initial consultation for Aman to understand your needs before a list of ideas is pulled together. Nothing is rushed and Aman ensures you have all the time you need to get the products you require right. There are demonstrations, guidance, friendly advice and handy tips throughout the appointment.
I was lucky enough to try out some of the strollers and prams at the event and I was blown away by the wonderful products on the market that I hadn’t seen before, especially the Cybex strollers which were light, stylish but felt sturdy and safe.
I loved that Aman had also found small businesses to feature in the showroom as well as the big well-known brands. One of my favourites were these ‘Mummy Loves Organics’ candles which smelt beautiful and would be a lovely present for a Mama to be.
I loved my visit to The Baby Service and left feeling slightly broody (eeek). It’s a wonderful local service and the perfect place for inspiration if you are expecting a little one in Surrey or the surrounds, I really wish this had been around when I was pregnant with my girls.
Aman recently wrote about how she started The Baby Service as part of the Mama You Can series, so if you’re interested to read on click here.
Have you used a service like this for baby products when little ones have been on their way?
