We were invited to our local Prezzo recently to try the new La Famiglia dish as part of the #PrezzoLaFamiglia challenge.
The La Famiglia dish is a family sharing dish that’s put in the centre of the table for everyone to enjoy.
Here’s a little bit about our family of four dining experience.
We went to our local Prezzo in Weybridge. It’s a beautifully light, airy and modern restaurant and the girls immediately settled in with colouring pencils and paper.
We were there to try one of the new main meals but we couldn’t resist a couple of starters. We had the giant meatballs and the hummus which were both delicious and even Evie our 7 month old enjoyed some of the hummus!
It was then onto the main part of the meal, the La Famiglia sharing bowl. There were four options to choose from; Penne Arrabiata, Spaghetti Bolognese, Spaghetti Carbonara or Penne Alla Rusticana. We went for the Penne Alla Rusticana as we thought our (very) fussy toddler would prefer the chicken in this dish – we also quite liked the look of it as well!
I love the idea of a big sharing dish in a restaurant, its how we like to eat at home so the girls are used to everyone getting stuck in and when you’re out there is less stress about what to pick for everyone and most of all I’m not jealous of what my husband ordered!
We loved the theatre of the sharing dish coming out to us, Amelie was really excited as the plates were delivered to our table with big serving tongs – she might have attacked her Daddy with them, this added to the fun of the family meal and gave me a giggle.
When the dish came Amelie got straight up and wanted to serve us all our meal which was really sweet from a two year old! She definitely took the role of the ‘feeder’ and made sure we all had equal portions – apart from her poor baby sister who got one piece of pasta!
I finished off the serving and made sure that everyone had their fair share!
It was so nice to get out as a family and have a meal together – there is something different about being out of the house and getting away from all of the distractions of home life.
Both girls tend to eat better when we’re, out, together and recently if we’re eating something similar so to have the big sharing bowl was wonderful. Amelie really enjoyed dishing it all out (with a little help from Mama) and I often think that encourages her to try food as she has had a hand in preparing it or making it.
We’d definitely recommend the new La Famiglia dish if you have a hungry family and one that loves pasta!
Thanks Prezzo and Britmums for our wonderful family meal.
